Spring season, is time to antennas maintenance after the winter bad weather. Every year as soon as the weather become fair, in order to obtain a good performance in ARIDX 2026 Antennas maintenance. The ARI International Dx Contest, is organized by ARI the italian radioamateur associaation.
The ARIDX 2026 Antennas maintenance is carry out to assure the 100% efficience to the antennas system. I think we can’t instal antennas and live there in the roof or in the tower for years and years without any maintenace. So yearly I chech my multidipole for 40, 80 and 160 metres.
The next two pictures, has been taken by my son Nicola/IZ3JPM, while i was rebuilt the contacts between the dipole’s arms and the central insulator to avoid creaks and false contacts. Indeed, IZ3JPM use my station and antenna when he is at home.
Instead, the next one swow the central insulator of the multidipole for 40 and 80 metres.
The dipole for 160 metres, is fixed just a little bit down, with its central insulator, with balun 1:1 inside, and its coaxial cable.
The maintenance of the antenna cubical quad for 20, 15 and 10 metres, is done every two or three years or when it require repairs. To reach it, I have to hire a crane to go 15 metres high. The next two pictures shown the last repaing and maintenance operations performed in august of two years ago. It is still working good.
I remember you that the ARI DX contest, will take place the first weekend of may. This year from 12:00 UTC of saturday 2 may, to 11:59 UTC of sunday 3 may 2026.
