Fifteen days to the European WAEDC CW 2026. It starts the 8th of august 2026 at 00:00 UTC, and will finish the 9th august 2026 at 23:59 UTC. 48 hours of duration over the second full weekend of august. Remember the single operators may operate for 36 hours maximum. This is the most famous contest organized by an european radioamateur association, the german DARC. This the link to the full rules.
In this contest, european stations may contact foreing stations only. World stations may contact european stations only. This is not a world wide type contest. Another particularity of this contest is that foreing stations may send QTC message toward european stations, each QTC message correct sent count one point. More details are explained on the contest rules.
There are just three categories: Single operator low power, Single operator high power and multi operators.
I’m going to participates as Single operator with my own call I3FDZ, with low power, so if you heard me calling CQ pse replay to me and and give me QTCs too. The QSO with you will be appreciate very much. Remember the italian prefixes IG9 and IH9, italian islands of Lampedusa and Pantelleria, are in the CQ Zone 33, therefore even if they are italian territory, but geografically they are African lands. So stations from worldwid can’t contact them. Prefixes of IG9 and IH9 can be contacted from european stations only.

This is a contest very well attended by eupean stations specially from german stations. There are a lot of special stations organized to participate to the European WAEDC CW 2026 from any were in Europe. We are waiting the contest with impatience setting up our stations.
